1949 Jaguar XK 120 Aluminum roadster
Sold in 2008.
A REAL BARN FIND !!
This is a very rare and un restored XK 120 aluminium roadster in pure and unmolested condition. One of only about 180 LHD cars build on a full total of 240. The car was last registered on the road in 1960 and still has it’s sticker on the original black California plates from the second owner.
Absolutely a very interesting car for the Jaguar collector as these aluminium cars formed the bases of success for Jaguar in the post war period. Without these “kind of prototypes”, where would Jaguar stand today ? The car marked Jaguar’s history and to find such an important original car must make the hearts beat faster with any collector.
This car is untouched with perfect aluminium skin, perfect wood structure and would be an easy restoration or keep it as is. It is totally matching numbers, including engine and cylinder head. It was originally finished in a light medium green with suede green interior. The car retains it’s original rear spats and all details. The engine turns free and the car will be made running and driving if desired. Available ex California.
