1947 Jaguar M IV Drophead 3.5 L.
This Jaguar was originally sold new in Belgium as a left hand drive car and with the bigger and more powerful 3.5 liter engine. It definitely is the more desirable version. Not many of these cars were sold on the European continent. When the first owner passed away, the car stayed for many long years in a garage in Gent. There were some service bills left un paid, and the garage owner became ownership of the car. The car stayed with him in good original condition until the early nineties, when it was sold to a local enthusiast. This third owner decide to have the car restored and that program took him many years until it was finished around 2001. The car came up for sale in 2004 and we sold it to the fourth owner, a long time car enthusiast and conoisseur.
He had the engine and transmission rebuilt again and made the car reliable for long distance touring. The whole car is matching numbers and very rare original in details. It must be one of the best driving MK 4 DHC around and will bring great satisfaction to it's new owner. A very practical family car indeed.
Change of plans in the collection, so now for sale.
